💜 Alzheimer’s Memory Walk

Today, our residents proudly dressed in purple and joined the wider Feilding community for the Memory Walk, raising awareness for Alzheimer’s disease. The weather was very kind, and it was great to see so many people come together for this important cause. Even Mayor Helen Worboys joined us all!

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia and can affect individuals in various ways, depending on which parts of the brain are impacted. By participating in this event, we honoured those living with the disease and helped to increase understanding and compassion within our community.

With 4 out of 5 New Zealanders knowing someone living with dementia, today’s walk played a crucial role in raising awareness and reducing the stigma associated with Alzheimer’s. Thank you to Alzheimers Manawatu for a wonderful morning tea and for organising such a great event! 💜
